Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems

Founded in 1934, the Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS) is a statewide, nonprofit trade association that works closely with local and national government leaders, business and citizen coalitions, and other professional health care organizations to enhance and promote community health and to continue improving Oregon's innovative health care community.

OAHHS helps Oregon hospitals speak with one voice on national and state-focused health care priorities.

OAHHS Mission

OAHHS provides leadership in health policy, advocacy, and comprehensive member services that strengthen the quality, viability, and capacity of Oregon hospitals to best serve our communities.
Our team serves every Oregon hospital by:
  • Representing and advocating for state and federal health policies that enable the membership to take those actions necessary to more effectively and efficiently meet the health care needs of their communities.
  • Recruiting and retaining experienced, professional, effective, and responsive staff that clearly understand and fulfill the mission.
  • Disseminating timely and relevant health care industry information to educate the public and providers about health policies and issues.
  • Identifying, analyzing, and acting on major trends and issues impacting the membership.
  • Maintaining a broad-based membership, and operating through responsible fiscal policies.
  • Developing policy statements using OAHHS Board of Trustees, committees and task forces.
  • Offering educational opportunities to improve member governance and management.
  • Communicating effectively with the membership.
  • Taking a strong advocacy role in reforming and restructuring health care to better serve the needs of Oregon communities.
  • Striving to reach consensus and unity among members.
  • Identifying and promoting potential areas of collaboration among health care providers.
  • Working cooperatively with policy-makers and other organizations and associations.
  • Systematically providing those services that can best be provided through the association.
