Other Initiatives & Programs

The priority of OAHHS, along with all of our member hospitals, is to achieve the best health outcomes for the patients we serve, through the delivery of optimal quality and safe care. The OAHHS programs and initiatives are designed to meet this goal.

Oregon's community hospitals are committed to working together to share best practices and provide safe care to all patients who access their services. Oregon's hospitals are not only providing safer patient care today, but they are also gaining the knowledge and skills that will continue to benefit their communities far into the future. Hospitals are driven by a commitment to provide safe care to their patients, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Hospital Transformation Performance Program (HTPP)

The Hospital Transformation Performance Program (HTPP), approved by the Oregon Legislature in 2013, is funded by the Hospital Provider Assessment Program which is paid by the 28 Diagnosis Related Group (DRG) hospitals in Oregon. A portion of the funds from this program are pooled together and awarded to the DRG hospitals based on their performance on the 11 patient safety and quality measures listed below.

Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems (OAHHS), Apprise Health Insights, and the Oregon Health Authority (OHA) are working in collaboration with these 28 hospitals to meet their quality improvement goals by providing resources and technical assistance for process improvement. See below for links to the OAHHS content webinars and slides. Click here for more information on the HTPP program, measure specifications, and other OHA resources.

Equity of Care

The Oregon Association of Hospitals and Health Systems has taken the #123forEquity Pledge to Eliminate Health Care Disparities, a National Call to Action that aims to achieve equitable care for all patients, increase cultural competency training in health care settings, and expand diversity in health care leadership and governance. We are urging our member hospitals to:

Take the Pledge – Pledge to achieve the three areas of the Call to Action

Take Action – Implement strategies that are reflected in your strategic plan and supported by your board and leadership. Provide quarterly updates to AHA and your board in order to track progress nationally.

Tell Others – Achieve the goals and be recognized. Tell your story and share your learning with others in conference calls and other educational venues, including social media, to accelerate progress collectively.
